Police officer tells court his own brother-in-law missing

ISLAMABAD, April 15 : DIG Police Islamabad on Friday told the Supreme court during the hearing of the missing persons case that his own brother-in-law had been abducted.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Javed Iqbal resumed the hearing of missing persons' case on Friday.

During the hearing, DIG Islamabad Bani Amin appeared before the court for giving details about missing persons.

He said that both the missing persons were activists in the outlawed organisation, Tehrik-e-Islamia. He further stated that Zahida, the mother of Adnan, one of the missing persons, is an important activist of Tehrik-e-Islamia.

Amin charged that earlier a journalist, Shakeel Turabi, lied to the chief justice of Pakistan when he said his son Meraan Shah has been missing. He stated Meraan Shah was later found to be a mujahid commander.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
