LAHORE, April 15 : The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday agreed to hear the petition against drone attacks in Pakistan and directed the federal government and Interior Ministry to submit detailed report to the court on the issue on April 26.
Advocate Iqbal Jafferi had submitted an application to the LHC in which he asked the court to take notice of the US drone attacks inside Pakistani territory.
The application further said that innocent Pakistanis were being targeted in the drone strikes conducted by the American government while our ruling elites were not paying any heed to the issue.
"The court should take notice of the illegal strikes and also of the irresponsible ruling elites and direct the government to take concrete steps to halt drone strikes in the bordering areas," the petition said.
