6 died, 11 injured in road accident in Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD, April 18 : At least six passengers were killed and 11 others injured when a passenger van fell into a ravine near Langarpura area here on Monday.

According to police, a passenger Toyota Hiace van bearing number MDR 896 was travelling to Muzaffarabad from Dubin area when it plunged into a gorge. as a result, 17 passengers sustained serious injuries.

Local people and rescue team rushed the accident scene and shifted the injured to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Muzaffarabad where at least six injured succumbed into their injuries due to late arrival of doctors and paramedical staff in the emergency ward of the hospital.

Two among the injured were stated to be in critical condition in the hospital, the hospital sources said. Three of the deceased were identified as Muhammad Faqeer, Ali Hassan and Salman Naseer.

The locals protested against the administration of the hospital, saying that the injured lost their lives due to their careless attitude.
