Transporters Ittehad announces indefinite strike against POL price hike in > Karachi

KARACHI, March 01 : Karachi Transporters Ittehad has announced an indefinite strike against the increase in POL prices.

Talking to private TV channel, President Karachi Transporters Ittehad Irshad Bukhari said that the public and transporters will suffer a lot due to the increase in petroleum prices.

He demanded that the political parties should play their role to force the government to reverse the decision of POL prices hike.

Irshad Bukhari said that the transporters will completely support the political parties if they call for strike against increase in POL prices.

Meanwhile, Karachi Water & Sewerage board (KWSB) has refused to supply extra water to main departments including Cantonment area due to the shortage of water in the city.

Due to increasing demand of water and delay in the maintenance of extra water supply project, KWSB has refused to supply the extra quantity of water to main department of the city including Civil Aviation Authority, DHA City, Site Ltd, Oil Refinery, Textile City, KPT, PQA, Pakistan Development Authority, DHA and all cantonments of the city.

According to MD Water Board Misbahuddin, "K-4" project was started to meet the demand of water but it could not go ahead and the Water Board cannot supply extra water to these departments until a new water project is not developed.
