LAHORE, Jan 04 : Dense fog continued in different cities of Punjab adversely affecting the movement of traffic besides leaving six people injured in separate road mishaps at GT Road.
According to Meteorological Department various cities of Punjab including Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanpur, Mandi Bahauddin and Sargodha remained in the grip of dense fog on Tuesday. Met office has forecast that dense fog in parts of Punjab would persist during next week.
Fog has not only affected smooth movement of traffic on GT Road and motorways but also lowered the temperature, further adding to the hardships of citizens who were already undergoing a number of difficulties due to prolonged power load shedding and low gas pressure.
Motorway was closed at Burhan Interchange for traffic leading to Peshawar due to dense fog till afternoon.
Meanwhile at least six persons were reportedly injured due to fog related road mishaps in Sheikhupura, Sardar Bhattian and Hafizabad locality at GT Road.
