Taseer's secret visit abroad unconstitutional: Sanaullah

LAHORE, Dec 08 : Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Governor Punjab Salman Taseer had committed an unconstitutional act by leaving the country without handing charge of his office.

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, he said that Punjab governor had gone missing and he contacts with the government from anywhere.

He said that like wandering child Punjab governor Salman Taseer went missing from governor house and anybody did not know about his therefore he should himself contact with the government.

He said that Under 18 amendment of the constitution, governor of the province was bound to hand over his office to acting governor before leaving to foreign country, adding Punjab's Governor Salman Taseer violated the constitution after leaving for Dubai without handing over charge of his office.

He said such act of Punjab governor could lead to a constitutional crisis
in the country.

He urged the federal government to take action against Punjab governor and dismiss him from his office after conducting investigation.
