RAWALPINDI, Dec 25 : Renowned nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has said that Pakistan’s nuclear assets are safe and secure and western allegations against our nuclear programme are nothing but just part of a propaganda campaign.
“Our nuclear programme is completely safe and in strong hands” the father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb remarked.
He was talking to media after attending a function held here Saturday in connection with the 134th Birth Day anniversary of father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
Dr Qadeer Khan said Quaid-e-Azam created Pakistan while they made it a nuclear power. He said the Kahuta team behind the nuclear programme had the same spirit which was during the independence movement.
He said Lt General Kidwai has also made it repeatedly clear that there is no danger to the security of our nuclear weapons.
The famed scientist said there had been no corruption in Kahuta and General Musharraf never uttered a word of corruption against him(Qadeer).
He said by making the defence of the country impregnable, they provided an opportunity to the government to pay attention to health, education and other needs of the people.
He said today corruption is at its peak in the country and the situation is worst than ever before. He said the past and the present rulers have caused immense damage to the country. He regretted that the government was doling out resources to those who are corrupt.
The nuclear scientist said France, Iran and China gave sacrifices for revolution and today they are developed nations. “Every one of us must realize his responsibilities instead of leveling allegations on others” he pleaded.
