Excesses with Punjab over gas not allowed: Shahbaz

LAHORE, Dec 15 : Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday said his government would not allow discrimination of Punjab province in the name of gas load management.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Punjab Chief Minister urged Prime MinisterYousaf Raza Gilani to convene a meeting over shortage of gas, where Punjab government would inform about its reservations over gas shortage.

Shahbaz said he was hopeful that the prime minister would do justice with Punjab in connection with gas load shedding. He said gas companies had announced gas load shedding in all provinces but Punjab is being made victimized.

"Gas load shedding is being done only in Punjab," he added.

He said that industries and factories of Punjab were destroyed due to gas load shedding, adding that millions of people were rendered jobless due to gas shortage and its cuts.

The chief minister said that he would himself take out a rally along with employees of industries on the road if gas load shedding was not stopped.

He claimed that some elements were hatching conspiracies against Punjab and warned that conspirators would be exposed.

"All the provinces should be treated equally," he said and added that Punjab government would take suitable action to get its hue and cry heard in the federal capital.
