ISLAMABAD, Dec 15 : Tahafiz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Conference at its meeting here on Wednesday gave a countrywide shutter-down strike call for December 31.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Muslims across the world were united and ready to give every sacrifice for Tahafiz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat.
He said all mosques in the country will organize protest demonstrations on December 24 after Friday prayers in each city. He said a big public meeting and protest demonstration would be held in Karachi on 9th January, which will be attended by all the central leaders of religious parties.
He announced that Dr Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair has been made Chairman of Tehrik-e-Namoos-e-Risalat. The Tehrik will form sub committees to organize the Tehrik at grassroots level.
Fazlur Rehman appealed traders, organizations and associations of small and big markets to extend a supportive hand to the Tehrik in making the shutter-down strike call a success.
He said they want to send a message to the world that the entire nation is united for the protection of Namoos-e-Risalat. The conference held under the chairmanship of Maulana Fazlur Rehman was attended by among others by Syed Munawar Hassan, Qazi Hussain Ahmad,
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Allama Sajid Naqvi and others.
