PPP striving to serve the poor masses of the country: Farzana Raja

RAWALPINDI, Nov 30- Federal Minister and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Ms. Farzana Raja has said that the founding day of Pakistan Peoples party is in fat an occasion to reaffirm our commitment to provide every possible facildity to poor masses of the country. She said that Shaeed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto has made this commitment to the people of Pakistan and today his party is doing its best to fulfill this historic commitment.She added that the peasants and laborers of the country observe this day as an occasion when their voices were made to heard first time ever.

Ms. Farzana Raja said that President Asif Ali zardari has proved himself true heir of the PPP and nobody can deny the fact that there is no dearth of the people in the party who have worked with Shaeed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and they are still working to strengthen the party under present leadership. She said this while speaking as chief guest at a ceremony held here by PPP Rawalpindi City, in connection with 44th Founding day of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Besides others, Sultan Mahmood Qazi, Amir Fida Piracha, Nargis Ishaq Zafar, Nazima Jawwad, Raja Khalid, Shujaat haider, Khawja Imtiaz, Shaikh Hameed, Zafarulalh Khan, Khalid Nawaz Bobby, Samera Khan, Azra Younis and Mirza Khurram also spoke on the occasion. The chairperson of the BISP said that it’s a matter of pride and honor that the people’s government today fulfilling the commitment of serving the people of Pakistan which was made by Shaeed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. She said that real patriotism is serving the people and our politics is based on service for masses of the country.She said that other political parties have also initiated programmes on the name of poor including Sasti Roti. However, all such programmes remained a total failure. On contrary, she said, BISP has achieved tremendous success and serving the poor masses of the country in true sense.Farzana said that poverty survey is being conducted throughout Pakistan including Rawalpindi and the deserving families are being identified through this process without hurting the self esteem of the families. She said that BISP is delivering the right of the people at their doorstep and it’s highly instrumental in empowering women economically. She added that the present government would serve the people for the period of five years and would seek the support of the people on the basis of its performance. She said that 30th November is not only founding day of Pakistan Peoples party but it’s also a day when the programme of provincial harmony and prosperity of the provinces was announced.On the occasion, Amir Fida Piracha, President of Pakistan Peoples Party Rawalpindi said that the history of PPP is full of sacrifices made by its leadership and workers.
