KARACHI: A crucial meeting of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee has been underway in Karachi and London simultaneously to discuss various options including quitting the ruling coalition, sources said.
Meanwhile, the President has urgently called the Governor of Sindh to Islamabad.
The meeting also discussing option of resignation by Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad, sources said. The Governor has prepared his resignation and will submit it to the President today, the sources said.
The party sources said that the Rabita Committee regretted the government attitude over the situation in Karachi. The situation in the city has been serious and the party can use any option, sources said.
MQM leader Hyder Abbas Rizvi talking to a private channel said that the party considering various options. He said the Rabita Committee holding a crucial meeting on the situation.
The governor has talked on phone with Prime Minister Gilani and briefed him about the MQM reservations.
