| KARACHI: Polling has been underway for the bye-election in Sindh Assembly's constituency PS-94 amid stringent security measures. Around 1,33,000 voters will use their right to vote in by election on the seat of provincial legislature that was fall vacant after murder of MQM MPA Raza Haider on August 2 last. The election commission has declared 22 polling stations of the constituency as 'very sensitive' in the tense contest. The Orangi Town constituency has been comprised of five union councils and 86 polling stations. A police officer along with 15 policemen and a contingent of Rangers has been posted at each polling station for security. Saifuddin Khalid of MQM and two independents contesting the elections, while Awami National Party had announced boycott of the election and protest day today. The administration has imposed ban on carrying arms and pillion riding in the constituency under section 144. |
