ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 : Pakistan on Tuesday thanked the Chinese Government for enhancing flood relief assistance to Pakistan. Masood Khan, Pakistan's Ambassador to China, in a meeting with Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hu Zhengyue conveyed the gratitude of Pakistan Government to the Chinese Government and the people.

"China's assistance to Pakistan has been timely, substantial and unconditional" Masood Khan said, adding that the Chinese assistance was targeted with precision with the most urgent needs of flood affectees like tents, generators, water-purifiers, medicines, food items and clean drinking
water.
Assistant Foreign Minister, Hu Zhingyue said the focus of the Chinese assistance has been on providing immediate rescue and relief as well as on epidemic prevention. In due course, he said, China would give maximum assistance to Pakistan for reconstruction in the affected areas.

China has so far committed US $ 50 million to Pakistan as flood relief aid.
