WANA, June 09: The grand jirga of Ahmadzai Wazir here at Wana on Wednesday condemned the drone attacks in the tribal areas which have claimed the lives of several innocent people and demanded the government to stop drone attacks, sources said.
Sources said that locals Ulema, elders of Ahmadzai Wazir and Taliban members of Peace Committee attended the jirga while Wana bazaar and schools in the area remained closed at the time when jirga was in session.
Members of the jirga unanimously stated to support the security officials operating in the area and also to extend support to the developmental projects initiated by the government in the area.
Sources said that members at the jirga condemned the role and activities of political administration to mar the peace of the area and over not fulfilling its negotiated promises to the locals.
The elders at jirga also condemned the officials of health department and telecommunication and demanded them to redress the problems of the locals on priority basis.
