Haq offers mediation between Govt & Taliban

PESHAWAR , Prominent religious leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has offered government on Monday to play a mediation role in talks between government and Taliban.

“If government takes serious efforts for talks with Taliban I am ready to cooperate” Sami ul Haq told a press conference after oath taking ceremony of newly elected district cabinet.

He said that most important problem of the country is impact of foreign powers on foreign policy of the country.

He stressed that government should review its policy and resume talks with Taliban.

To a question he said financial condition of the country could not afford creation of new provinces as creation of provinces on regional and linguistic basis is harmful for the country, he said.

He stated that his party has reservations about restoration of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and his party will not be the part of that mechanism.
