FIA submits interim challan of BB’s assassination to ATC

RAWALPINDI, May 26 : Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted interim challan of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in a special anti terrorism court in Rawalpindi on Wednesday

The FIA has nominated three officers of the Rawalpindi police as accused in a new interim challan of the case which was presented in the special anti-terrorism court No.1.

The FIA in challan accused that SP Ashfaq Anwar was assigned security duty at Liaquat Bagh, but he went to the highway with his force without any intimation. To hide this crime he tampered with the police record.

SSP Khurram Manzoor ordered washing out the crime scene and Inspector Kashif Riaz, then SHO of police station City, despite being legally responsible, he did not arrange for the post-mortem of any of the bodies of 24 killed in the suicide attack.

Rifaqat, Hasnain, Aitzaz Shah, Abdur Rasheed and Sher Zaman are behind the bars for the case.

The interim challan said suicide attacker stayed at Hasnain’s residence and it was Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud who hatched the plot for Benazir’s assassination in Masdras Haqqani in Akora Khatak The special court adjourned the trial till June 12.
