ISLAMABAD, May 26 : Federal Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim met President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Wednesday and gave him a detailed briefing about his interaction with estranged JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Makhdoom Amin Fahim who enjoys considerable respect among senior politicians met Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday night and inquired about his grievances to the government.
Though details were not given about talks between Amin Fahim and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, sources close to the JUI leader said the Government is show no respect to the view point of the party on important national issues. They said the Maulana had not been called by President Zardari for one on one meeting for over a year and that was considered by the Party as an attempt to side line him and the Party.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman had been airing his complaints against the government very frequently and some of his party leaders have threatened to leave the coalition government.
After listening the grievances of Maulana Fazlur Rehman , President Zardari said JUI(F) is an important component of the coalition government. He said he hs lot of respect for Maulana Fazlur Rehman and would soon be holding a meeting with him.
