KARACHI, Mar 11 (INP): Police have registered an FIR against PML-Q Information Secretary Marvi Memon for leading a protest demonstration against provincial government’s obstinacy regarding contractual employees of the National Programme for Implementation of Watercourses (NPIW) in Karachi on Thursday.
The NPIW contractual employees have been staging a sit-in outside Karachi Press Club for the last seven days for job regularization.
A FIR has been filed against Marvi in Police Station Artillery Ground, which contained riots, and anti-peace sections against her, however arrest has not been made so far.
Referring to the FIR, Marvi told to a private TV channel, “The government is employing such tactics because it is fearful of our sit-in, however, she vowed, “I will not call off the sit-in unless the temporary employees get job regularization". She called upon the PML-Q members to raise the said issue in the National Assembly session.
