DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Hamas called on the European Union members on Monday to put Israel on its list of "terrorist countries" because it constituted a threat to world peace. Hamas in a statement welcomed the EU foreign ministers' condemnation of the use of their passports in the assassination of Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh, describing it as a strep in the right direction to condemn Israel. It called for more just steps to "incriminate the Zionist entity as a criminal state that should be prosecuted at the international courts". The Movement asked all human rights groups and international legal organizations to prosecute Israel and its leaders as "terrorist war criminals". Hamas warned of singling out Israel from prosecution or covering up the crime, explaining that such practice would encourage others to pursue the same method and would endanger the security and sovereignty of other countries. |
