HUB, Jan 20 : Police on Wednesday arrested two persons and seized explosive material from their possession during routine checking of the vehicles in coastal city of Gaddani, Balochistan.
According to DIG Khuzdar Range Asif Ijaz Sheikh, two suspected men Habibullah and Safdar, were apprehended on a tip who wanted to carry out a terrorist attack in Hub.
“The police were on high alert and started checking vehicles. It stopped a vehicle and found huge quantity of explosives during the search of the vehicle,” he added.
Asif Ijaz said that Habibullah and Safdar, aged between 40 and 42, belonged to outlawed outfit, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. He said that the active and timely action of police prevented any possible damage if the explosive laden vehicle goes off.
Police said that the two rounded up extremists were detained from an area near HUBCO Power Plant near Gaddani.
