Dr Qadeer rejects giving interview to any US paper

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 : The renowned Pakistani nuclear scientist, Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has said that he did not give any interview to US newspaper and called the western media reports as fabrication.

Talking to a private TV channel on Wednesday, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan said the western intelligence agencies gather such reports and get them published to apply pressure over a country.

He said Pakistan nuclear arms are safe and secure. Dr. Qadeer also said that no foreign agency has questioned him.

He said that former army dictator Pervez Musharraf gave sensitive information of country to western and he asked the question why anyone not asks Pervez Musharraf in this regard.

He said that a military dictator imposed ban on him but a democratic government was not still lift the ban for free movement, adding he was still under monitor of government.

It has been alleged that the nuclear scientist has shared sensitive information in an interview to Washington Post.

The government has filed a petition at the Lahore High Court on Tuesday, seeking a ban on the free movement and interaction of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan with media.

The petition stated that the liberty granted to Dr Qadeer Khan poses serious threat to national security. It has been alleged that the nuclear scientist has shared sensitive information with the international media.
