KARACHI, Jan 20 : The Sindh Provincial Assembly has launched its first Strategic Plan, developed with the support of the U.S. government.
The Plan, based on best practices by legislatures around the world, outlines the Assembly’s goals and objectives for the year, in service of the people in Sindh.
At the request of the Assembly, the U.S. provided training for legislators and professional staff in strategic planning in drafting the Plan, which provides the Sindh Assembly with a roadmap to address Sindh’s development goals. As part of the Plan, the Assembly’s legislative departments will work together to televise and electronically report on Assembly activities, improve oversight and law enforcement, and upgrade professional staff skills.
“Our mission is to become an effective Assembly, protecting citizens’ rights and working to provide better quality of life,” Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khoro said during the launch ceremony. “We will use our long term planning tools and consistent budget support to modernize the Assembly to better serve the needs of our constituents.”.
