KARACHI: Markets and business in the old city areas remain closed on Thursday in protest against the breakdown of law and order the localities of Lyari witnessed on Wednesday.
During the conversation to Aaj News, Ateeq Mir, the Chairman All Karachi trader’s association said “More then 80 markets and small businesses are closed today due to lawlessness in the city, including Kharadar, Metha dar, Boltan market, Khagzi market, etc”.
Over a dozen people were killed including two businessmen on Wednesday in different acts of violence that occurred in Lyari and the adjoining areas.
The traders demanded security from the government during the precarious law and order situation in the metropolis.
