MQM invites PPP to attend its Sunday's rally

LAHORE, April 09 : Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation led by Dr. Farooq Sattar met PPP's Secretary General Jehangir Badar and invited the PPP to attend the Sunday's public meeting being held in Lahore.

Later, talking to newsmen the MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar hoped that PPP would consider their invitation to attend the public meeting.

The MQM leader said that he was encouraged by the tremendous response of the people of Punjab. He said that Altaf Hussain would not disappoint the people of Punjab.

Replying to questions Jehangir Badar said the PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will make a final decision whether or not his party will attend MQM's Sunday rally. He said MQM has taken a right step for the welfare of poor masses.

"MQM's decision to enter the national politics will help resolve issues. People's sufferings can be addressed through reconciliation," he added.

To a question, he said "Zulfiqar Mirza is on leave and he has a democratic right to express his views."

He said that politics of middle and lower middle class is the need of hour.

He said that MQM's active role in Punjab's politics would create a competitive environment in the country's largest province.
