Afridi thanks PM for acknowledging cricket team performance

ISLAMABAD, April 11 : National Cricket Team Captain Shahid Khan Afridi has said that he is thankful to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani for acknowledging the performance of cricket team in the World Cricket Cup.

Talking to media after attending the luncheon hosted by the prime minister for the national cricket team he said that national cricket team is not only the team of coach and captain rather it belongs to the 180 million Pakistanis.

He said that the upcoming tour to West Indies is significant and the team would try to deliver its best results.

He said the team performed well in the World Cup matches, adding if the nation and the government continue to encourage the team they would definitely win the next World Cup.

To a question Afridi said newcomers have been inducted in the team for the upcoming tour to West Indies." They will be provided with chance to show good performance", he added.

He thanked the Chief Minister Punjab, Chief Minister Sindh and Governor Sindh for their extending support to the team.
