16 suspects including hotel waiters rounded up in Dera Ghazi Khan

D G KHAN, April 07 : At least 16 suspected persons were taken into custody by police personnel during a search operation in the city here on Thursday.

Police said that they were raiding various suspected spots of the city as security was heightened after the dual suicide attacks on Sakhi Sarwar shrine in which scores of people were killed.

After the suicide attacks at the shrine of Sakhi Sarwar, some suspects were rounded up who during interrogation have disclosed important information about militants' network in the settled districts of Pakistan.

Police said that manager of the private hotel Wazir Ahmad, waiter Ghulam Nabi, Habibullah, Jaffar Khan, Allah Ditta, Ehsanullah, Ghazi Khan and Noorullah were rounded up and were shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation. The suicide attackers had stayed in the hotel for four days and planned the shrine attack in the hotel, police claimed.

On the other hand, owner of the hotel, Haji Jumma Khan talking to a private TV channel said that three persons came to his hotel and they were allowed to stay there for three to four days after following proper procedure and collecting ID card numbers from them.

"We have no magic stick to know about anyone whether he is a terrorist or a good citizen of Pakistan," the hotel owner asserted, adding that we have followed the proper procedure of allotting a hotel room.

Haji Jumma Khan blamed that his innocent hotel workers were taken into custody by the law enforcement agencies officials who have no connection with the terrorists or terrorists' organization. He appealed to the officials concerned to immediately release the hotel workers.
