Zulfiqar Mirza says he is not Makhdoom or Peer of Multan and bound to follow party discipline

KARACHI, March 15 : Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has said that he considers him as an activist of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and not an office bearer or leader and he would spare no time in following the directives of the party leadership if asked to step down from his position.

"I am not Peer or Makhdoom of Multan and bound to follow the party leadership's directives."

Speaking in the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday, Zulfiqar Mirza said that reports published by some newspapers regarding his removal from Home Minister's office owning to differences with the party leadership were baseless and out of context.

"Media reports have hurt my and my family's grace and a privilege motion in this regard has been submitted in the Sindh Assembly against the publisher of fake report.

He said that party leadership was authorised to keep or remove any party activist from his position in accordance with the situation.

Zulfiqar Mirza said that some elements were trying to create rifts in the ranks of the PPP, but such conspiracies would not succeed.
