ISLAMABAD: A Supreme Court bench declared appointment of Chairman National Accountability Bureau as null and void and ordered his immediate removal from the office.
The court earlier completed the hearing of petitions challenging appointment of Justice (r) Syed Deedar Hussain Shah as NAB Chairman.
A three-member bench comprising Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa was hearing identical petitions against the appointment .
Leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Nisar and Shahid Orakzai had challenged the appointment of Justice (r) Deedar as the NAB chairman.
