Judges appointment parliamentary committee to meet today

ISLAMABAD, March 07 : The Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment has convened its meeting today (Wednesday) to discuss the Supreme Court's verdict of rejecting the committee decision and also to devise future strategy.

Chairman of the committee Nayyer Hussain Bukhari has said that the committee is working within its limits provided in the constitution of Pakistan and will not allow other institutions to interfere in its sphere. He said, "I am in contact with the supreme court bar association members over the issue."

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has dismissed the decision of the committee which rejected the extension of six judge additional judges tenure. Of these, four were from Punjab and two in Sindh High Court.
