SWABI: At least eight persons were killed and seven others injured as a motorbike rider blew up his explosives near a security check post during a political procession in Swabi.
A suicide bomber hit the welcome procession for JUI leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman at Swabi Interchange on Wednesday killing eight persons including a policeman. The JUI leader remain unscathed in the deadly terror strike, reports said.
"It was a suicide attack," said district police chief Swabi Ejaz Khan.
The injured have been transferred to local hospital. Police have cordoned off the area after the blast.
