Amir Muqam denies intention to join PML-N Says his meeting with Ch Nisar was misinterpreted by media

ISLAMABAD, March 16 : Former Federal Minister and President Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam has said that he has no plan to change loyalties but media misinterpreted his meeting with opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

In an exclusive interview with INP on Wednesday, Amir Muqam said that he has personal relations with Chaudhry Nisar and he met him to discuss some personal issues but a section of the media tried to misguide people that I was going to join the PML-N.

He said that differences among political leaders are the part of democratic system but besides political affiliations they have personal relations and leaders of political parties can meet each other putting aside their political affiliations and differences.

The PML-Q leader said his meeting with Chaudhry Nisar was not a secret meeting and if he had any agenda to change loyalties, he would have kept it secret.

Amir Muqam said that he visited the residence of the opposition leader in Chakri to condole death of his mother. “How could this meeting be termed a political one,” he questioned.

He said his party leadership held meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, who wants the PML-Q in the ruling alliance. However, he said the decision of joining the government would be taken by party president and all office bearers of the party are bound to follow the party decision.
