MIRANSHAH, March 16 : At least five militants were killed in a US drone attack in Degaan village of tehsil Dattakhel in North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday, official sources said.
The US spy aircraft fired three missiles at a militant compound in the area, killing five suspected militants.
Local people came out from their houses in panic after the drone attack.
People rushed the scene of the incident and started rescue operation for recovering bodies.
The slain militants reportedly belonged to Hafiz Gul Bahadar group.
The tribesmen protested against US drone attack and demanded of the government to stop these attacks.
The Political Administration sources confirmed the drone attack and death of militants.
The US drones regularly hit hideouts of the militants in North and South Waziristan regions.
More than 85 people have been killed in such strikes since the beginning of this year.
