PESHAWAR: At least 25 persons were killed and many others injured on Wednesday in suicide attack during funeral prayers in Matani Adezai locality of Peshawar.
DCO Peshawar Siraj Ahmed confirmed that the blast during funeral prayers was a suicide attack in which the Peace Militia was targeted.
The relief teams of Rescue 1122 and other organizations rushed to the place of attack and have been engaged in ferrying the injured to nearby hospitals.
Authorities have declared emergency at Peshawar hospitals.
Police and other security agencies have cordoned off the area after the attack.
