GUJRANWALA, Jan 26 : Seventeen policemen, including for officers were dismissed from their services for killing a person in fake encounter three years ago in Gujranwala.
Police sources said on Wednesday that the officials including four SHOs, five SIs, one ASI, five constables and one driver were involved in killing of one Tariq, a taxi driver in fake encounter in Motarnehar area.
The Supreme Court had taken suo moto notice of the incident after breaking of news by media and ordered inquiry into the incident.
The inquiry termed the encounter as fake and put the responsibility of the killing incident on the policemen which led to dismissal of all seventeen policemen from their services.
