Three Balochistan judges get one-year extension

ISLAMABAD, Dec 04 : The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has granted a one-year extension to three additional judges of Balochistan.

The session of the judicial commission was held in Islamabad and presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

The extension given to Justice Tahira Safdar, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Mohammad Noor Maskinzai will be applicable from September 2010.


The judicial commission has also decided that cases of the extension of tenures of the judges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whereas the cases of Sind High Court are being considered.

The commission will forward the recommendations to the Parliamentary Committee.

In addition, the commission will also finalize names for the appointment of a Chief Justice and other judges for Islamabad High Court.

Regularization of ad-hoc judges and appointment of new judges on vacant posts are also under consideration.


According to sources, the decision of extension in the tenure of Justice Ghulam Mustafa Maingal has been postponed.
