Ten including a security man killed in violent incidents in Balochistan

QUETTA, Dec 04 : At least eight persons including a security forces official and a woman were gunned down and six others sustained injuries including four soldiers in different incidents in various areas of Balochistan on Saturday.

According to details, in Khuzdar gun battle between unidentified armed men and security forces personnel resulted in the death of a security forces official and injuries to three soldiers. During the gunfire security forces killed four gunmen at the spot and inflicted injuries to four other
miscreants.

The injured security forces officials were shifted to hospital for medical aid and the area was cordond off by the law enforcement agencies to nab the remaining miscreants.

In another incident, a landmine on road-side went off when a military convoy was on patrol, injuring a soldier and damaging the vehicle partially in Kohlu. Security forces started search operation in the area and also shifted the injured to hospital.

According to police sources at least five persons including two real brothers were killed when two rival groups in a pitched battle targeted hideouts of each other with automatic weapons. The dead bodies were shifted to local hospital for autopsy and police have taken control of the area.

Police said that dead body of a woman was recovered from Barvari area which was shifted to Bolan Medical Complex. Identity of the dead woman was not yet ascertained, police added.

In Turbat, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire at a local leader, Nowsherwani fatally injuring him. Locals shifted him to the hospital and his condition was stated to be critical.

Tension gripped the area after firing by armed men and locals chanted slogans against inability of the government to stop target killing incidents in Balochistan.

Police have lodged separate cases and started investigation.
