A police inspector kills, five other injured in Quetta bomb blast

QUETTA, 24: One police officer was killed and five others injured in a remote control bomb attack here at Qambrani road on Friday.

According to police sources, the bomb was planted on a bicycle by some unidentified militants, it exploded when a police mobile van was passing through the area, as a result one police officer was killed and five others policemen injured.

Police officer said that police van carrying six policemen including police inspector Daud Sharani was on patrol in the area, when it reached near Qambrani road the bomb exploded, killing inspector Daud on the spot while injuring five policemen.

The injured were shifted to Combine Military Hospital (CMH) where the two injured were stated to be in critical condition.

Police and Pakistan Rangers cordoned off entire the area after the attack and started search operation to trace out insurgents at large.

Bomb disposal squad
official said that more then five kilograms explosive material was used in the blast.

Balochistan government announced Rs.200,000 as a compensation to family of deceased inspector
