ISLAMABAD, Dec 08 : Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee and Chief of JUI-F Maulana Fazul-ur-Rehman on Wednesday presented a recommendation to the president regarding appointment of the ex-director Hajj Baherullah Hazarvi as D.G Hajj.

Sources said Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman who called on the president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday strongly recommend him to appoint Baherullah on the vacant post of DG, Hajj, because he has a vast experience in Hajj arrangements and other related issues during his earlier appointment as D.G.

Sources further said that President Asif Ali Zardari instead of giving approval to the recommendation has sought opinion of the high officials of the Ministry Affairs in this regard.

The sources added the president assured the Maulana that he will give a final nod regarding appointment of the D.G after seeking consent from the officials of the ministry of the religious affairs and taking on board the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.

It is pertinent to mentioned here that Beherullah Hazarvi had been appointed by former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali as Director Hajj in Makkah, later on Chaudhry Shujaat Husssain as acting PM, appointed him as D.G Hajj but Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazami removed him from the post after taking over the ministry affairs.
