Iran says no change in nuclear policy after sacking of FM

TEHRAN, Dec 14: The nuclear policies of Iran would not change after the replacement of former Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday.

Mottaki was dismissed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday and was temporarily replaced by head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali-Akbar Salehi, who is also Iran's vice president.

After the replacement of the Iranian foreign minister, "neither nuclear policies nor the framework of the (nuclear) talks will change," said the spokesman in his weekly press briefing.

The major policies of the country have a pre-defined framework and principles, and the replacement of a foreign minister will bring no change to those policies, he said, referring to the country's nuclear program.
