AHORE, Dec 08 : Police have arrested 15 suspects from Badami Bagh area during a search operation in connection with security arrangements for the holy month of Muharram.
DSP Shahzad Khan told the newsmen that the search operation was conducted to nip the terrorists and other anti-state elements so as to avoid any untoward situation during Muharram processions.
The police during snap checking at entrances and exits of the city searched the vehicles and baggage of the passengers.
The police arrested 15 suspects who failed to present NIC or failed to clarify their identity.
Shahzad Khan said that detained persons would be set free if nobilities of the area would guarantee their identity otherwise action would be taken against them in accordance with the law.
He said that police would continue search operations so as to assure fool proof security during Muharram ul Harram.
