KARACHI, Nov 30 : Law enforcement agencies claimed to have foiled a massive terror bid and apprehended at least fourteen terrorists including key Taliban commander and recovered huge arms and ammunition from their possession here on Tuesday.
According to CID police official, on a tip off, various raids were jointly made by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and special investigation police at various houses located in Sohrab Kot area from where at least fourteen terrorists were held.He said that one among terrorist Amanullah alias Munoo was the Ameer of Taliban militants in Karachi, whereas other detained terrorists were identified as Muhammad Omar, Ahsanullah and Barkatullah.
SP CID Police Umair Shahid told to media persons that the arrested terrorists belonged to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, adding that the terrorists wanted to carry out terrorism activities at the important installation of the government and Imam Bargahs in the city. Important maps, explosive materials and heavy arms and ammunitions including Kalashnikovs, suicide jackets were also recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists. He said that the terrorists gained training of terrorism from Waziristan, but they were the residents of Karachi.
