No more verification of fake degrees: HEC

ISLAMABAD: Regretting from further verification of academic records of the Parliamentarians, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Wednesday submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) its final report on the issue. The HEC has cited non-cooperation of the lawmakers as the reason of its excuse and distancing from scrutinizing the degrees of more than 400 MNAs. The HEC today also pointed out names of more than 400 lawmakers not cooperating with national and international universities and had not yet submitted copies of their matriculation and intermediate certificates. According to the HEC sources, it has been clarified in the report that its responsibility of the ECP to provide the HEC with academic records of the lawmakers for verification process, however, the ECP has not yet provided the documents of 457 MNAs despite HEC's reminders and repeated letters.
