JEDDAH: Hail Municipal Council has decided to launch a mobile tent campaign to receive direct feedback on municipal services from citizens on Dec.7.
“The campaign is very simple. It involves a tent at a convenient location in a district.
“An official of the council will be present in the tent to receive complaints and suggestions from the citizens of that district.
“After recording the complaints of one district, the campaign will move to the next district and record the complaints and suggestions from the citizens of that district. All the districts in the municipality will be covered in this manner,” Nader Al-Shammari, permanent representative of the municipal council said.
“The goal of the campaign is to collect the maximum number of suggestions from the citizens so that the council can take steps to serve people in the best possible manner,” he said.
He added that the campaign opted to receive complaints directly because other methods of receiving complaints such as sending e-mails or installing complaint boxes may not attract the needed attention from officials.
Al-Shammari said the launch of a mobile complaint tent is a first in the Kingdom and he hoped that it would become a big success in solving the issues of the public.
The council also intends to organize periodic meetings with citizens to listen to their problems, he said.
