Eight pilgrims held on drug smuggling charges

PESHAWAR, Oct 30: At least eight pilgrims were taken into custody at Peshawar Airport on Saturday when drugs were recovered from their possession.

The arrests were made by Anti-Narcotics Forces (ANF) when they scanned the intended pilgrims upon suspicions. "The pilgrims have been stopped for boarding on a Jeddah bound plane and investigations were underway," ANF official said.

According to Commandant ANF Brig. Muhammed Ameer Khan, the intended pilgrims
were having heroine filled capsules in their stomach.The arrested people were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for recovering capsules from their stomach, he added.
