ISLAMABAD, June 04 : The Supreme Court has ordered to demolish the fast food restaurants and entertainment clubs built on the land of Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9 Park).
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry passed the orders after hearing the case of illegal constructions at the public park in Islamabad .
The apex court further ordered that the owners of the club and the fast food restaurant will bear the expenses of the demolition of the structures within three months.
The apex court also ordered end to the leasing work of the library at the park and admitted pardons sought by the owner of the restaurants established on the public land.
The court also ordered to take action against former chairman CDA Kamran Lashari for violations of the law, by awarding permissions to the restaurants to operate at the park’s land.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that a criminal law suit would be lodged against Lashari for violation of the law.
The court also directed the authorities concerned to take action against other officials involved in the matter.
