KARACHI, June 07: Two bike riders were shot to death two reporters of a local newspaper here at Chinasar Ghot area of Mehmood Abad on Monday, sources said.
“Three gunmen riding on a bike opened indiscriminate fire at Ghulam Murtazah and Aziz Lasi, when they were going somewhere on a motorbike,” local sources said.
The deceased were shifted to Jinnah hospital from where the heirs received the dead bodies and placing them in front of the in press club held a protest demonstration.
They were demanding the arrest of the culprits.
The heirs said that both the deceased were working for a local newspaper, where they have published news against local drug peddlers.
They were of the view that the same gang of drug paddlers was involved in the assassination of the two reporters.
Police however rejected the opinion saying both the deceased were part of a drug peddler gang and their assassination was a result of some old enmity.
Police have registered the case and started hunt for the culprits.
