Two police officials held in Faisalabad police station torture case

FAISALABAD, : Two police officials were arrested while four policewomen were released on bail Wednesday in a case of torturing a woman in Civil Lines Police Station.

The officials arrested were nominated among 20 people on the charges of torturing Abida Hameed in Faisalabad police station.

Female police constables tortured Hameed in presence of their male colleagues at the Civil Lines Police Station.

A vigilance team was also constituted by the Inspector General of Punjab (IGP) to probe into the matter.

The nominated police personnel include Inspector Zahida, Inspector Nasrullah Niazi, sub-inspector Tauhid Akhtar, sub-inspector Gulnaz and constables Bushra, Zahida and Ruhi.
