SC declares PPP candidate ineligible for by-polls

ISLAMABD, : The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday declared Nazir Jatt, the PPP candidate for NA-167 Vehari ineligible for contesting by-polls.

According to details, the Court in its remarks said that fake degree holders could not contest the elections. A three member bench, headed by Justice Javed Iqbal heard the case.

During the hearing, Justice Javed said that any person, who deceived people with his fake degree, did not qualify the eligibility criterion for contesting the polls.

The Court added that his resignation showed that he admitted his degree was fake. The Court also observed that one, who is dishonest, is not eligible to be a member of the parliament.
