LHC approved petition for hearing of Rehman Malik pardon case

.LAHORE, May 27: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday approved the hearing of petition filed against the pardon given to Interior Minister Rehman Malik in corruption cases.

Justice Ijaz Chaudhry after admitting the petition for hearing adjourned the hearing till the third week of June and proposed constitution of a full bench to hear the case

Justice Ijaz Chaudhry noted that the matter was in public interest and therefore a full-bench may be constituted for its hearing.

The Court also ordered the federal government to present copies of the order of pardon given to PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif in plane hijack case

Deputy Attorney General said that According to the Constitution, the President has the authority to pardon anyone's sentence.

Nawaz Sharif’s case is also an example of this authority, he added.
