2 school children killed, 10 injured in blast outside Police Public School

PESHAWAR, April, 19 : At least two schoolboys were killed and ten other including seven schoolboys were injured in blast inside shop near main gate of Police Public School at Jamrud road here on Monday.

According to details, some unidentified miscreants planted explosive device inside a empty shop adjacent police public boys school on Jamrud road in Peshawar, the blast exploded at the leave time which was a powerful, killing a child on the spot and injuring at least 11 persons including seven children.

The injured were shifted to Khyber Teaching Hospital and one among boys succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

The blast occurred in an empty tuck shop situated outside Police Public School on Jamrud road. The shop is property of school, police sources said.

The blast was so powerful that it was heard far and wide. Two vehicles parked near the school were destroyed in the blast. The entire area is hit by panic after blast. Peshawar University and other educational institutions were closed immediately after the blast and traffic also remained suspended.

The heavy police contingent arrived on the spot along with Bomb Disposal Squad.

The MS of Khyber Teaching Hospital Khizer Hayat told media persons that at least seven injured children including an adult were brought to hospital, adding the body of a minor is also present at the hospital. All other injured are stable, he told.

According to Bomb Disposal Squad, at least two-kilogram explosives were used in the blast. Police and security forces cordoned off the entire area after blast.
